NDIS tech support that builds digital confidence.
Patient, one-to-one help with everyday phones, tablets, computers and online tasks — focused on helping you understand your own technology, not taking it over.
Practical technology help, at your pace
Technology is part of everyday life now: appointments happen on video, family chats happen on phones, services use online forms, and a new device can arrive with dozens of settings nobody explains. If disability-related support needs make those tasks harder, a support worker can work alongside you to build confidence and independence where the support fits your goals, plan and funded supports.
TrueSide focuses on everyday technology support and digital confidence. That means calm explanations, repetition when you want it, and doing things with you rather than rushing through a fix and leaving.
What we can help with
- Setting up and learning everyday features on phones, tablets and computers
- Email, video calls, calendars and communication apps
- Accessibility settings such as text size, contrast, captions, voice features and simpler home-screen layouts
- Connecting devices to Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, printers and common accessories
- Organising apps, notifications, files and photos so the device is easier to use
- Practising online forms and everyday digital tasks, with the participant keeping control of passwords and private information
- Basic online-safety habits, scam awareness and privacy settings
- Step-by-step digital skills practice over more than one session when repetition helps
Support, not a computer-repair shop
TrueSide is for practical support work and skill-building. We do not present ourselves as a specialist hardware-repair, data-recovery, cybersecurity or clinical assistive-technology assessment service. If the problem needs that expertise, we will say so rather than guess.
Technology support can be simple.
You do not need a complicated technology problem to ask for help.
Phone & tablet confidence
Learn the settings and apps you actually use, simplify the screen, practise messages and calls, and make the device easier to navigate.
Computer basics
Work through email, files, browser tabs, video calls, updates and everyday tasks slowly enough that you can repeat them yourself.
Safer everyday use
Build habits around suspicious messages, privacy settings, updates and passwords without turning the session into technical jargon.
Wi-Fi & accessories
Basic help connecting a device to home Wi-Fi, Bluetooth headphones, printers and common accessories, or identifying when a specialist is needed.
Video calls & appointments
Practise Zoom, Teams, FaceTime or similar tools so joining an appointment or speaking with family feels less stressful.
Gaming & tech interests
Prefer gaming to generic outings? Shared interests can make support more natural while you remain in control of what the session is for.

Is technology support automatically funded by the NDIS?
No. The fact that a task involves technology does not make it NDIS-funded. The support needs to fit the participant’s plan, disability-related needs, goals and current NDIS rules. We agree the scope before starting and encourage participants or plan contacts to confirm the funding fit where needed.
Do you sell computers, phones or gaming equipment?
No. TrueSide provides support work. Ordinary devices, internet plans, subscriptions, games and other everyday consumer costs are not included in our support-work charge.
Can you help with passwords or private accounts?
We can help someone learn the steps, but the participant should keep control of passwords, banking details and other private information. We do not need to retain passwords to provide digital-confidence support.
What if the device needs repair or a formal assistive-technology assessment?
We will tell you when the issue is outside our scope. Hardware repairs, specialist cybersecurity, data recovery and clinical assistive-technology assessment should go to an appropriately qualified provider.
In person across Melbourne’s south-east
Technology and digital-confidence support is available as part of TrueSide’s one-to-one Support Work across Greater Dandenong, Casey and surrounding south-east Melbourne areas, subject to availability. See Support Work and rates or our service area.
For the official framework, the NDIS says support workers can help participants develop skills and work towards goals, and Core or Capacity Building supports can support community participation and skill development depending on the plan. See the NDIS support worker guidance.
Tell us what you want to be easier.
You do not need to know the NDIS item number or the technical cause before getting in touch. Describe the device or task, your suburb and how your plan is managed, and we’ll tell you honestly whether it fits our scope.
