What a support coordinator actually does for you.
An NDIS plan is really a budget with rules attached, and most people get one with very little explanation. A support coordinator turns it into something usable. In practical terms, that means sitting down with your plan and explaining what each budget can pay for, working out what you want your supports to look like, then finding and comparing providers who can deliver it around Dandenong or wherever suits you.
It also means doing the follow-up that eats people's time. Chasing a therapy waitlist. Sorting out a provider who keeps cancelling. Checking a service agreement before you sign it. Getting quotes when your plan requires them. And when your plan reassessment comes around, helping you pull together the evidence that shows what's working and what needs to change, so the meeting isn't a surprise.
TrueSide delivers Level 1 Support Connection (shorter, practical help to link you with supports and build your confidence managing them) and Level 2 Coordination of Supports (ongoing coordination for plans with more moving parts). We don't provide Level 3 specialist support coordination, and we'll say so upfront if your situation needs it.
Where we work around Dandenong.
In-person coordination meetings are available across Dandenong, Dandenong North, Dandenong South, Doveton, Eumemmerring, Noble Park, Springvale, Keysborough and the wider City of Greater Dandenong, plus neighbouring Casey suburbs like Hallam, Hampton Park and Narre Warren. We're based locally in Melbourne's south-east, so meeting at your home, a library or a cafe near you is straightforward rather than a special trip.
Coordination itself doesn't have to be face-to-face. Most of the actual work happens between meetings: calls to providers, emails, comparing options, reading agreements. Plenty of participants do everything by phone and video, which also means we can coordinate for people well beyond Dandenong, anywhere in Victoria. You pick what suits you, and you can change your mind later.
Looking for a support worker rather than a coordinator? That's our second, separate service: see NDIS support work in Dandenong.
Common reasons people in Dandenong get in touch.
A new plan has arrived and nobody has explained it. Support Coordination funding is sitting unused because the last coordinator disappeared. A family is carrying the coordination load themselves and it's becoming a part-time job. A therapy provider has a nine-month waitlist and nobody has offered an alternative. A participant wants a worker who speaks Dari, or a provider who understands their culture, and doesn't know where to start looking. A plan reassessment is six weeks away and there's no evidence pulled together.
None of these need to be dramatic to be worth fixing. If your plan has a Support Coordination budget, this is exactly what it's for. If you're not sure whether it does, read how to check whether you have support coordination funding or just ask us to help you look.
Straight talk on conflicts of interest.
TrueSide offers both Support Coordination and Support Work, so the separation needs to be explicit. Coordination participants are not required to use TrueSide Support Work. If TrueSide is a possible provider for another support, we disclose that interest, provide genuine alternatives and leave the choice with you. Choosing another provider does not reduce the coordination service you receive. Any notice or exit terms in a service agreement still apply if you decide to change a service.
The full policy, including how to complain if you ever feel pressured, is published at our conflict of interest policy. The NDIS Commission also takes complaints directly on 1800 035 544.
Funding, pricing and getting started.
Support coordination is billed from the Capacity Building: Support Coordination budget in your plan, not from your Core funding. TrueSide charges $80.06 an hour for Level 1 and $100.14 an hour for Level 2, matching the NDIS Pricing Schedule 2026-27 price limits, with no travel charges for phone or video work. Full details are on the support coordination pricing table and in our schedule of fees.
As an unregistered provider, TrueSide can coordinate for plan-managed and self-managed participants. Getting started is deliberately simple: send an enquiry below or book a free 15-minute call, we talk through your plan and what you want from it, and if it's a fit you get a plain-English service agreement to read in your own time. If it is a fit, you receive a plain-English service agreement to review. No pressure; any notice and exit terms are set out before services begin. Professionals can also refer a participant directly.
Dandenong support coordination FAQs.
Do you meet in person in Dandenong?
Yes. Face-to-face coordination meetings are available across Dandenong, Dandenong North, Dandenong South and nearby suburbs, usually at your home or somewhere local that suits you. Plenty of participants also prefer phone or video for most catch-ups, with in-person meetings saved for the bigger conversations. You choose the mix.
Which plan types can you work with?
Plan-managed and self-managed participants. If your NDIS funding is agency-managed (NDIA-managed), the rules currently limit you to registered providers, so TrueSide can't deliver your coordination. If you're unsure how your plan is managed, ask during the intro call and we'll help you check.
How much does support coordination cost in Dandenong?
The same as everywhere else we work: $80.06 an hour for Level 1 Support Connection and $100.14 an hour for Level 2 Coordination of Supports, in line with the NDIS Pricing Schedule 2026-27. It's billed from your plan's Support Coordination budget, not your Core funding, and there are no travel charges for phone or video work.
Can you help me find providers in the Dandenong area?
That's a large part of the job. You get a shortlist of options that fit your goals, funding and location, with the trade-offs explained in plain English. The choice is always yours, and that includes therapy, support work, community programs and anything else your plan funds.
What if I already have a support coordinator?
You can change providers. Check the notice or exit terms in your current service agreement, decide how you want the handover handled, and give notice in writing. If something is not working, we can explain how a transition to TrueSide would work before you decide.
Does TrueSide also do support work in Dandenong?
Yes, support work is a separate TrueSide service in the same area. They are never bundled. If you use TrueSide for coordination, you'll always be shown other support work options too, and choosing a different provider never affects your coordination. The full policy is published on our conflict of interest page.
